Meeting Location: Matanuska Lakes State Recreation Area, Mile 36.4 Glenn Highway. Other locations will be announced.

Fee: $100 for first Kid; $25 each additional kid. (Includes Family Membership in VMBAH and SprocKidz fee)

Bike Rental: $100/bike plus $100/bike deposit (check written out to VMBAH but not cashed if bike is returned in good condition). Registration for SprocKidz does not guarantee a bike rental. Rentals are dealt as a first-come-first-served basis based on financial need. Please email sprockidz@gmail.com if you need a bike rental.

Kidz: Number limited to the first 100 to sign up.

Coaches: We Need Coaches! No coaching experience needed. We will train. If you can coach every, or almost every Monday/Wednesday, your Kidz ride free with a family membership in VMBAH. Contact sprockidz@gmail.com if you are interested.

SprocKidz meets on Monday & Wednesday evenings from 6-7:30 pm at the Matanuska Lake State Recreational Area (Mile 36.4 Glenn Highway). Please drop your Kidz off 10-15 minutes prior to start time so they can get ready and meet with their group for a timely departure (and return) onto the trails. We will bike the trails in the Matanuska Greenbelt area.

Other planned ride locations include the Government Peak Recreation Area and other special ride days to be announced.

· Descending technique (just say "no" to "endos" by “Going Moto”)

· Ascending technique (The “Grasshopper” technique)

· Cornering technique (Leading with your head and shoulders)

· Front wheel lift

· Back wheel lift

· The Bunny Hop

· The Track Stand

· On-trail bike maintenance

· Food and hydration principles

· Single track practice

· Trail etiquette for mountain biking and encountering other trail users

SprocKidz is a volunteer program and your family's participation requires your volunteer efforts. You will be able to select a volunteer opportunity at the parent meeting in May.
